Im sure every parent feels that way but its fun to have it in writing every once in a while right? We had our first parent/teacher conference with Bayleigh's teacher today. She is doing great (did you expect any different?) She is where a typical kindergartner should be. She is at a beginner reading level and at the mid level for writing (I actually expected it to be the other way around...but hey I'll take what I can get). The teacher said she knows 25/26 of her uppercase letters, 23/26 lowercase, can say 21 letter sounds, can count up to 21 objects, can sort, and recognize all her colors. She has some things to work on: the rest of her letters, sounds, counting objects to 32 and sounding out words but all in all we are incredibly proud of her. The teacher had very nice comments to say about her overall behavior and study habits. She said she ""listens attentively, follows directions well, takes pride in her work, works well with others, participates well and is very positive and polite" What more can a parent ask for?
Her wonderful report earned her a trip for ice cream.
Way to go BAYLEIGH!!
