How we do sick

I am often fascinated with other families traditions. It is cool to see how you celebrate Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Halloween...but some of my other favorite things is to see how people handle snow days, summer and most importantly sick days. When I was growing up when you were sick you were confined to your room or to a spot on the couch, watched tv all day and was waited on by your parents. Well...in the McKee house its not much different. I had the pleasure of having not one but TWO sick kiddos for the last 4 days. Aislinn came down with a fever and a cough...it later turned into croup complete with wheezing, loud coughing and crappy attitude. Doing as sisters do Bayleigh followed suit a few days later. She woke up Monday morning with a "tummy ache, fever and feeling like her head was gonna explode"
So with 2 sick kiddos I went into "mommy mode" I called and made Aisy a Dr's apt since her cough had been around for 2 days with no improvement and set Bayleigh's room up as "sick central"
The next two days were full of barbie movies, medicine, orange soda and chicken soup (Sean's childhood tradition...his mom made Bay a special batch and brought it over for her)
* each kiddo has a sick blanket. Ever since Bayleigh was a baby whenever she would get sick we would lay this blanket down in the living room and thats where her and I would sleep until she felt better. When she woke up sick on Monday she insisted I cover her comforter with the "sick blanket" so that if she threw up her other blankets wouldnt get icky.

the girls love any excuse to drink soda all day

homemade chicken noodle soup made by Bayleighs Gammy

*although we have never been huge on "co-sleeping" Aisy would rather sleep in mommy and daddy's room when she sick then sleep in the living room. So when shes sick she curls up on our comforter in our room and watches Dora

So that's how the McKee's do sick days...what are your family traditions?
